‘The Iron Lady’ Review

By

From the title you might think “The Iron Lady” is the story of the wife of “Iron Man”. And while Meryl Streep could probably pull-off that role too, here she stars as Margaret Thatcher, Britain’s first female Prime Minister. Right from the first time Streep is on screen it’s hard to recognize her because SHE […]

‘Joyful Noise’ Review

By

Normally, if a studio is unhappy or not confident in a movie, they’ll bury it by releasing it in either January or August. Warner Bros. released “Joyful Noise” this past January as one of the first new films of 2012, and now it’s already out on Blu-ray/DVD. And while it does have some problems, “Joyful […]

‘War Horse’ Review

By

The build-up to director Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse” was huge when the film was released late last year, because of the popular novel it’s based on and the Tony Award-winning play. And while this version does provide a nice story and engaging characters, “War Horse” goes down a familiar path and therefore fails to be […]

‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ Review

By

Brad Bird is best known for directing critically acclaimed animated movies, such as “The Iron Giant” and Disney/Pixar’s “The Incredibles” and “Ratatouille” (both which won him Oscars). ‘The Artist’ Review

By

“The Artist”, as you likely know by now, is a black and white, mostly silent film that originally got a lot of attention, some of it because it’s a black and white, mostly silent film. ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 1’ Review

By

“Twilight” movies have dominated the box office, and the hearts and minds of female fans, for the past three years – with “Twi-Hards” packing theaters representing either “Team Edward” or “Team Jacob“. After seeing “Eclipse” last year I proclaimed myself a member of “Team I Can’t Understand What All the Fuss is About”. Now, after […]

‘Tower Heist’ Review

By

“Tower Heist” had one of the largest ensemble cast – along with “The Help” – of any 2011. And like “The Help” this story centers around workers, in this case at the biggest apartment building in New York City. This time the help are looking for “payback” by getting their pay back. Ben Stiller stars […]

‘In Time’ Review

By

Imagine if people didn’t age past their 25th birthday and from that day forward they had to add time to their personal accounts to stay alive. But, at the same time, everything in the world that people did, used and bought cost, not money, but time, that came off of their personal accounts. Time would […]

‘The Three Musketeers’ Review

By

Hollywood is often blamed for churning-out too many remakes of old films and classic stories. Well, at least when it comes to this latest version of “The Three Musketeers”, Hollywood is in the clear – since this movie was produced by European studios and shot entirely in Germany. And this film is so bad that […]
