“Playmobil: The Movie” (PG) The CGI adaptation of the popular toy brand featuring the voices of Daniel Radcliffe and Adam Lambert.

“The Aeronauts” (PG-13) “The Theory of Everything” stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones re-team for this high-flying, meteorological film.
Friday Dec. 13
Nationwide
“Jumanji: The Next Level” (PG-13) Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas return for the sequel to the 2017 hit reboot. This time they’re joined by Awkwafina, Danny Glover and Danny DeVito.
“Richard Jewell” (R) Clint Eastwood’s latest drama is a look at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games bombing and the man at the center of it. The strong ensemble includes Paul Walter Hauser, Jon Hamm, Sam Rockwell, Olivia Wilde and Kathy Bates.

“A Hidden Life” (PG-13) Director Terrence Malick presents a nearly three-hour drama about a WWII conscientious objector. It’s an Independent Spirit Awards Best Feature nominee.
“Bombshell” (R) Charlize Theron plays Megyn Kelly, Nicole Kidman is Gretchen Carlson and John Lithgow is Roger Ailes in Jay Roach’s FOX News film. Margot Robbie and Kate McKinnon co-star.
“Uncut Gems” (R) Adam Sandler plays a wheelin’ and dealin’ jewelry store owner.
Friday Dec. 20

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (PG-13) It’s the end of an era… again… as J.J. Abrams concludes this core trilogy in the modern “Star Wars” saga.
“Cats” (PG) “Les Miserables” and “The King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper returns to the musical genre with this Broadway adaptation starring Jennifer Hudson, Judi Dench and Taylor Swift.
Online
“Togo” (PG) Willem Dafoe and Julianne Nicholson headline this family-friendly dogsledding drama on Disney+.
Wednesday Dec. 25
Nationwide
“Little Women” (PG) It’s “Lady Bird” writer/director Greta Gerwig’s version of the classic story with contemporary flare. The cast is led by Saoirse Ronan, Laura Dern and Meryl Streep.
“Spies in Disguise” (PG) Blue Sky Studios, the makers of “Ice Age”, serve-up a spy action comedy featuring the voices of Will Smith, Tom Holland and Reba McEntire.

“1917” (R) “American Beauty” and “Skyfall” director Sam Mendes takes a page out of the “Birdman” playbook by essentially filming this WWI drama in one continuous shot. It’s incredible.
“Just Mercy” (PG-13) This legal drama brings together Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx and Brie Larson.

“Clemency” (R) Alfre Woodard gives one of the best performances of the year as a death row prison warden. This is an absolute must-see.
