A few days after the NY Emmys, some thoughts:
– It was a great night whether I’d won or not
– The toughest part of the evening was getting to the stage through all the tables to the stage
– Those podiums are not designed for 11 year olds
– Emmy only weighs 3 pounds
– The food was great: beef, mashed potatoes and spinach
– It was cool meeting Dr. Ruth and the other celebrities
– I still can’t believe the band played me off the stage (and I wasn’t even going long with my speech)
– Presenter Brenda Blackmon didn’t think I was the winner when I came up on the stage
– My first encounter with paparazzi was fun (“look here, look here”)
– The Marriott Marquis in NYC is spectacular (great glass elevators)
– Overall, it was one of the coolest experiences of my life.
– And where am I keeping my Emmy? Right now she’s still in the box.
