Some people think that once you win an Oscar, you may never win or be nominated again. You’ve hit the high point of your career. But that’s certainly not the case, especially recently. There have been a number of times when actors are nominated again for performances shortly after they took home the gold. And they can even WIN again in a short period of time. Everyone remembers when Tom Hanks went back to back for 1993’s “Philadelphia” and 1994’s “Forrest Gump”. Sometimes they’re nominated because their performances were fantastic. And sometimes it’s simply because The Academy loves them and they’re still on members’ minds. These are the 21st Century examples:
