“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the first “Star Wars” movie to be released under the Disney name since The Mouse House’s acquisition of LucasFilm. More new “Star Wars” films are on the way, both in the core franchise and with spinoffs, including “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”, which is set for release next December. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is the seventh installment in the core “Star Wars” franchise. It is directed by popular and successful entertainment media mogul J.J. Abrams, who previously directed “Mission: Impossible III”, “Star Trek”, “Super 8” and “Star Trek Into Darkness”.
