Logan Lerman is now being considered the front runner for the new “Spider-Man” movie. I didn’t even think of him. But there’s one problem with choosing him. If he does more “Percy Jackson” movies, how is he going to have enough time to do one or possibly more new “Spider-Man” films?
But since “The Lightning Thief” only made $86.9 million, is it worth a sequel?
Speaking of money, I was standing in line buying tickets the other day, and a woman next to me was buying two adult tickets and one child ticket to go see “How to Train Your Dragon” in IMAX 3-D, and guess how much it cost?
$48.25!!!!!!!
That’s outrageous! There will be other IMAX movies coming out this summer in 3-D: “Shrek Forever After” and “Toy Story 3”, and other blockbusters not in 3-D including “Iron Man 2” and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. The question is: will theaters be charging that same $48.25, or take their prices down $5-$10 because these movies are not in 3-D? I hope that’s the case.
But here’s my prediction: Within the next year, maybe even this summer, films on 2-D screens and drive-ins will make a HUGE comeback. People just aren’t going to spend the extra money for 3-D and IMAX anymore.
