One of my favorite Pixar films, “Ratatouille”, is possibly getting a 3-D re-release, along with other Pixar classics. However, the 3-D conversion process takes a long time, and with “Beauty and the Beast”, “The Lion King”, and several new Disney films, I’m sure it won’t be out for at least a couple of years.
Disney also announcing that Elizabeth Banks (“Fred Claus”) will play Tinker Bell, on a new live-action version called “Tink”. I guess doing three direct-to-dvd animated movies about Tinker Bell wasn’t enough.
And speaking of direct-to-dvd, Pixar is making a “Cars” spinoff movie called “Planes”. Maybe this will feature characters we’ll be introduced to in “Cars 2”. No one has seen a frame of it, therefore no dvd release yet.
For all you movie and sports fans, “The Blind Side” beat “Invictus” and “The Karate Kid” to win Best Sports Movie at the 2010 Espy Awards.
And finally, a “Despicable Me” sequel is already in the works, along with two new minions shorts. HOO-RAY!!!!
