Last year at this time I wrote about the Owl Movie Awards, which are part of Owl Magazine, which is a kids magazine out of Canada. I found it once, several years ago, at my local library and now every year I make sure to get the December issue because of their movie awards.
In case you can’t get a copy, here are a couple of the categories and their nominations:
Best Animated Character: Po, “Kung Fu Panda” (Jack Black); Bolt, “Bolt” (John Travolta); Wall-E, “Wall-E” (created by Ben Burtt); Yoda, “Star Wars the Clone Wars”.
For me it’s a toss-up between Po and Bolt. And Rhino (“Bolt”) should have gotten a nomination over Yoda.
Most Laughs: “Kung Fu Panda”, “Horton Hears A Who!”, “Get Smart”, “Beverly Hills Chihuahua”.
“Kung Fu Panda” and “Get Smart” are both very funny, the other two not so much.
(Both of these could be future polls on the site!)
If you can find the Dec. Owl Magazine you can vote, send in your ballot by January 31st, and if your selections are correct you can win the new “Harry Potter” Limited Edition DVD Collection Movies 1-5. Good luck!
