If you’ve seen “Nim’s Island” you’ve probably seen the trailer for “Space Chimps” (unless you got to your seat too late).
The animated comedy comes from 20th Century Fox, Starz Media (a relatively new company) and Vanguard Animation. They previously did 2005’s “Valiant”, which I liked, and last year’s “Happily N’Ever After, which I hated.
One of the voice actors in “Space Chimps” is Patrick Warburton, who is becomming the “King of Animated Movies.” He was in “Hoodwinked”, “Underdog” and , most recently, “Bee Movie.” And he was in “Happily N’Ever After”!!!
The “Space Chimps” trailer is pretty fast and pretty funny. It’ll have some tough box office competition when it comes out on July 18. Both “Mama Mia” and the Batman sequel, “The Dark Knight”, also come out that day. But I’m sure the kids and family audiences will be flocking to “Space Chimps.” I know I will be.
