“Awesomeness” will be returning to a theater near you sooner than expected. DreamWorks Animation has announced that “Kung Fu Panda 3” will be released on December 23, 2015, three months sooner than originally planned.
“KFP3” joins “The Penguins of Madagascar”, “BOO” and “Trolls” on the ’15 schedule. “Mumbai Musical”, which was originally going to be the studio’s 2015 holiday movie, will now be moved and could end-up in 2016.
Among the new actors joining the “KFP” cast: Bryan Cranston (who voiced Vitaly in “Madagascar 3”) and Rebel Wilson (last heard in “Ice Age: Continental Drift”). All the regulars are expected back, including Jack Black, Seth Rogen and Angelina Jolie. Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who directed “Kung Fu Panda 2” also returns for this third adventure of Po The Dragon Warrior, and the Furious Five.
The first two “KFP” films together made over $1.3 billion globally. That’s a lot of noodles.
