Get your ballots out! It’s time for my predictions for the 88th Oscars! “Mad Max: Fury Road” will lead all wins with four, followed by “The Revenant” with three out of its 12 nominations. Three will be given to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” as well, and “Spotlight” will receive two, including Best Picture.
Following last year’s “Birdman” victory for Alejandro G. Inarritu, he’ll become the first person since Joseph L. Makiewicz (1949: “A Letter
to Three Wives”, 1950: “All About Eve”) to earn back-to-back Best
Director honors. Sylvester Stallone will finally win an Oscar for playing iconic boxer Rocky Balboa (he didn’t 40 years ago). And believe it or not, Lady Gaga’s going to take home a gold statue, too. Here’s the breakdown:
Best Picture – “Spotlight”
Best Director – Alejandro G. Inarritu (“The Revenant”)
Best Actor – Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Revenant”)
Best Actress – Brie Larson (“Room”)
Best Supporting Actor – Sylvester Stallone (“Creed”)
