11-time Emmy winner and television legend James Burrows, who directed and executive produced all 17 episodes of cult classic sitcom “Back To You”, will appear on a special new episode of the “Back To You Podcast” this September.
In an insightful conversation with the podcast’s Emmy-winning host, Jackson Murphy, Burrows discusses all aspects of being a part of “BTY”, from reuniting with Kelsey Grammer (“Cheers”, “Frasier”) to working with the rest of the cast and crew, how he feels about the series’ notorious cancellation and much more.
Burrows’ new memoir Directed by James Burrows (published by Ballantine Books, a division of Penguin Random House), is available now. It chronicles his incredible TV career that has spanned nearly 50 years and more than 1000 episodes, with terrific stories about his big break on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”, his years on “Taxi”, “Friends”, “Will & Grace” and beyond.
Burrows’ interview will be included on the next episode of the “Back To You Podcast”, which will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of “Back To You”. The TV news comedy series starring Grammer, Patricia Heaton, Josh Gad, Ty Burrell and the late Fred Willard (who appeared on the podcast in 2019) debuted on FOX on September 19, 2007.
A specific airdate in September and more info will be announced later this summer. To listen to all 21 episodes of the “Back To You Podcast”, go to lcj.podbean.com, the podcast’s Twitter page @BackToYouPod and Lights-Camera-Jackson.com.
