The Hollywood sign has officially been saved…thanks to Hugh Hefner. He and others put in enough money so they could buy it back from the real estate developers who wanted to tear it down.
How could you ever take down the Hollywood sign? It’s a world landmark. They already took down the “land” part in what was originally called Hollywoodland. I never thought I’d write this, but thank you Hugh Hefner.
Hefner posted on Twitter that he’s gotten more publicity in the last two days for saving the Hollywood sign than for anything else he’s done.
Also, there’s another new “Toy Story 3” poster advertizing the film as “The Great Escape” which is a tribute to the classic film starring Steve McQueen. There’s now 31 different posters. Wow, that’s a lot. It’s interesting that Buzz is in the center, and Woody is to his right. You’d think it’d be the other way around.
