Over the next couple of years, Paramount and DreamWorks Animation are going to be producing a ton of new shows and movies.
Nickelodeon has ordered pilots for TV shows based on both “Monsters vs. Aliens” and “Kung Fu Panda”. And there’s talk of TV specials for both: “MVA: Mutant Pumpkins from Outer Space” is in the works for Halloween, while the “Kung” special will likely be for the holidays.
Also for Halloween ’10: “Scared Shrekless”. Speaking of the big, green orge, the official title for the 4th “Shrek” film has been changed to “Shrek Forever After”. It was previously called “Shrek Goes Forth”. It’s due out 5/21/10.
And new dates are also out for “Madagascar 3” (5/25/12) and “Puss ‘n Boots” (3/30/12), though a lot can change between now and then.
Finally, the official title (for now) for the “Kung Fu Panda” sequel is – “Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom”. It’s release date – 6/3/11.
DreamWorks is certainly gearing-up to give Disney/Pixar a run for it’s money in the animation wars.
