It is official, there will be a “How to Train Your Dragon” sequel coming out in the second half of 2013. I’m very pleased. Some people (including myself) thought that “Dragon” didn’t have a fantastic opening weekend, but has really become a “sleeper hit”.
According to Box Office Mojo, it still needs to beat three other films: “Madagascar” ($193M), “Monsters Vs. Aliens” ($198M), and “Kung Fu Panda” ($215M) to be the highest grossing non-“Shrek” DreamWorks Animation film of all-time. Right now, “Dragons” has made about $185M. I think that it’s very possible that the film can beat or very well get close to $215M.
Also coming back to theaters soon is the Dark Knight himself, BATMAN. The film tentitevely called “Batman 3” will be out July 20, 2012. I have a few ideas of what the title might be:
“The Darker Knight”
“Batman Ends”
“Batman Reunion” (in which all the former stars of the Batman films would be in the film, with the current cast).
“Why So Serious?: The Story of the Joker” (in which Jack Nicholson would play the Joker again).
