Gal Gadot’s first major film role was as Gisele in 2009’s “Fast & Furious” revival that served as the starting point for one of Universal’s most successful contemporary franchises. She returned for a few more installments, including a cameo in 2023’s “Fast X”. She was also in 2010 action romantic comedies “Date Night” and “Knight and Day”. But the character that would change her life and catapult Gadot onto the A-list was… Wonder Woman.
She was the breakout of 2016’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice”, fighting alongside Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel. Then WW got her own, fantastic 2017 blockbuster. More time was devoted to this character in “Justice League”, the theatrical and Zack Snyder versions, disappointing 2020 follow-up “Wonder Woman 1984”, “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” and “The Flash”.
Outside of the DC universe, Gadot headlined Netflix’s “Heart of Stone” and starred opposite Kevin Costner in “Criminal”, Isla Fisher in “Keeping Up with the Joneses”, and Dwayne Johnson and Ryan Reynolds in high-budgeted “Red Notice”. She also lent her voice to “Ralph Breaks the Internet” and was part of the all-star ensemble of Kenneth Branagh’s second (and best) Hercule Poirot mystery “Death on the Nile”.
But now comes Gadot’s most high-profile role since Wonder Woman. She’s portraying the Evil Queen in Disney’s live-action adaptation of their first ever animated feature, “Snow White”. Rachel Zegler plays the title princess. The Mouse House is hoping for great success when it opens in theaters on March 21st. And on the way for Gadot: Julian Schnabel’s drama “In the Hand of Dante”, co-starring Oscar Isaac, Gerard Butler, John Malkovich, Al Pacino and Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa.
