I’m celebrating five years of contributing to AnimationScoop.com. The website, run by animation historian Jerry Beck, serves as a news and interviews outlet for animation fans, providing the latest information and in-depth insights on new features, shorts, series and specials.
Since July 2016 I’ve contributed more than 275 pieces to the site, including nearly 250 interviews with some incredibly talented writers, directors, producers, creators, voice actors, visual effects artists, composers, songwriters and animators. They’ve worked on some major projects from not only the large and well-known studios but smaller, breakthrough ones as well. Some of the people I’ve interviewed have won or been nominated for Oscars in the coveted Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short Film categories. Many have also been treated to nominations and wins at the Annie Awards, an annual ceremony run by ASIFA that celebrates animation makers.
In addition to interviews I’ve been able to cover special events (like in-person and at-home Comic-Cons) and breaking news (such as Emmy nominations and release date changes). It’s been a lot of fun and very rewarding to be a core part of the animation community through my involvement with Animation Scoop and I look forward to continuing to bring you more fantastic interviews.
