This year “Earth”, next year “Oceans”!
Before the new Disneynature documentary “Earth, the studio unveiled it’s 2010 release: “Oceans.” It will come out next Earth Day. The trailer shows some vintage footage of Walt Disney and explains that he was the first person who realized that animals could be great subjects for movies. And we see some nice images of life “under the sea.”
Here are my predictions for future Disneynature films: “Sky” (2011) and “Underground” (2012), though it might be tough getting 90-minutes out of that topic.
In other news: The producers of the final “Harry Potter” movie have decided to use “Benjamin Button” technology to make their characters look old. The original plan was to hire older actors to play the parts of Harry and his friends when they are in their late 30’s for “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two”, but after seeing how Brad Pitt looked in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, the plan now is to go with the special effects.
This move should save Warner Bros. a lot of money, since they won’t have to hire actors for the key parts. But, the extra star power may have been a boost for the film.
