Here are some of the big movies you can watch this December:
Thu Dec. 1 – “Frozen II” (8pm, ABC)
The Academy Award nominated sequel to Disney’s 2013 mega-hit debuts on ABC. 6.5 million people watched the channel’s premiere of the first “Frozen” in December 2016. We’ll see how this does.
Fri Dec. 2 – “Everything Everywhere All at Once” (7:30pm, Showtime)
One of this awards season’s biggest contenders, from A24, stars Michelle Yeoh.
Fri Dec. 9 – “Smile” (9:30pm, EPIX)
Paramount’s horror movie that was in theaters at the end of December is already available on a premium TV channel!
Sat Dec. 10 – “Amsterdam” (8pm, HBO)
David O. Russell’s all-star crime dramedy is one of the year’s worst films, but you can certainly check it out for… curiosity.
Sun Dec. 11 – “Avatar” (7pm, ABC)
You can watch James Cameron’s epic sci-fi action film five days before sequel “The Way of Water” opens in theaters.
Sat Dec. 17 – “The Banshees of Inisherin” (8pm, HBO)
Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson re-team with “In Bruges” writer/director Martin McDonagh for this unique drama about friendship, loyalty and kindness, set in Ireland about 100 years ago.
Sun Dec. 18 – “The Sound of Music” (7pm, ABC)
It’s the network’s annual airing of the Julie Andrews / Christopher Plummer musical classic.
Mon Dec. 19 – “Shrek 2” (8pm, NBC)
The DreamWorks Animation 2004 blockbuster airs on NBC for the first time (it was previously on ABC). This will get Puss in Boots fans ready for the character’s new film, “The Last Wish”, in theaters Dec. 21.
Tue Dec. 20 – “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch” (8pm, NBC)
It’s Illumination’s 2018 CG animated version of the Dr. Seuss story starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
Sat Dec. 24 – “It’s a Wonderful Life” (8pm, NBC) and “Home Alone” (8pm, ABC)
You can pick which iconic holiday film you want to watch on Christmas Eve, or keep flipping back and forth between the two!
Also Sat Dec. 24 – “Black Adam” (8pm, HBO)
Dwayne Johnson’s DC superhero movie is already going to be on TV, just two months after it opened.
Sun Dec. 25 – “Die Hard” (8pm, STARZ)
It’s a Christmas movie!
