JANUARY 29 – MISS UNIVERSE: Steve Harvey Returns
13 months after he announced the wrong Miss Universe winner, Steve Harvey returned to the pageant stage. After the moment was re-played (as if anyone didn’t remember what happened), Harvey said, “I didn’t ask them to replay last year. That was not my idea. Who the Hell thought that was a good idea?” Harvey later reunited with Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach: “Thank you for making me the most popular Miss Universe.”
Harvey then asked this year’s Miss Colombia contestant how people in Colombia feel about him: “A lot of people hate you.” Harvey prayed to God before he named this year’s winner – and Pia handed him some glasses to read the card.

Hough replied, “Oh yeah!” Terrence J then started to explain, “At a Young Age I…” Though we couldn’t hear audio from the audience, that’s when someone off-stage quickly shouted at Terrence – denying his height. Terrence turned and said, “Shut Up Over There! I am 6′ 3”. Shut Up.” Hough laughed. It was funny, yet slightly cringeworthy.
JUNE 11 – TONY AWARDS: Midler & Spacey
Bette Midler won Best Actress in a Musical for “Hello, Dolly!”. Her acceptance speech totaled nearly 4 minutes and 15 seconds, with Midler shouting “I just wanna say” 7 times as the orchestra was playing music. Midler’s response: “Shut that Crap Off!” A few minutes later, host Kevin Spacey emerged as his “House of Cards” character Frank Underwood to give the Best Musical envelope to presenter Lin-Manuel Miranda. Underwood looked into the camera and said, “I wanna get outta here before Bette Midler thanks anyone else.”
The finale with Spacey & Patti Lupone was also fantastic.
