This awards season won’t be quite as long as last year, which wasn’t quite as long as the year before. Everything ends with the Oscars. In 2020, The Academy Awards was earlier than ever: February 9th. That turned-out to be a blessing considering the entertainment world completely shut down on March 13th.
For the 2021 telecast, The Academy pushed the Oscars back as far as it could reasonably go, to April 25th. Last year, the ceremony was about a month earlier on March 27th. And in 2023, the Oscars will be Sunday March 12th. Will it stay in March forever, or it will eventually move back into late or early February? Who knows. Let’s focus on one awards season at a time.
