If you missed “Toy Story 3” when it was out in theaters this summer (why?), you’ve had a couple of weeks to see it at home since it’s out on Blu-ray and DVD.
But if you still haven’t watched Woody, Buzz and company deal with a future without Andy, you can see it “on ice”! The latest edition of “Disney on Ice” features the “Toy Story” characters in a show that covers not only “TS3”, but the first two movies of the series as well.
I saw the show the other night and it’s very entertaining. The skating is good and the story is a lot of fun. I’m surprised that the voices used by the characters are the real voices from the movies. But not all the lines come from the films – much of the dialogue had to be recorded just for the show by all of the stars, including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen (who must have squeezed it in between Ford commercials). And the costumes are pretty cool – especially Lots O’ Huggin Bear. It’s amazing that there is a person inside on skates.
The little kids in the audience loved the show, but there’s enough for older kids and parents to appreciate as well. If “Disney on Ice – Toy Story 3” comes to your town it’s definitely worth catching.
