“Beauty and the Beast” will be released on a new Blu-ray Special Edition DVD this Tuesday, but this Saturday, you can experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Fathom Events (best known for their ads before the movie begins, especially for the Opera) is showing a “Beauty and the Beast Sing-A-Long” in theaters all across the country.
This is the first time the film has been re-released since 2000, when the classic came to IMAX theaters. I probably won’t be singing, just marveling at seeing my favorite film of all-time on the big screen for the first time.
Originally, “Beauty and the Beast” was supposed to be released in 3D in the United States back in February, but that has sadly been pushed to 2012. Instead it was shown in Australia, where it got great reviews.
So, I would like to invite you to “Be My Guest” and go see the “Beauty and the Beast Sing-A-Long” this weekend, and then get in line to buy the DVD on Tuesday. Even if you’ve seen the film a dozen or more times (as I have) chances are they’ll be “something there that wasn’t there before”.
