Each of the four major networks (ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC) airs the Primetime Emmy Awards every four years. For the second time in a row that NBC has had it this year. And the peacock has decided to air the show on a Monday. “SNL” Weekend Update anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost are used to Sunday 12:15am ET newscasts. But a Monday night primetime broadcast hosting gig will be new territory. I think they’ll be straightforward with the humor – nothing you wouldn’t see during their popular “SNL” segment. As for the winners, here are my 2018 Primetime Emmy Awards Predictions in the 18 biggest categories:

Brosnahan has major momentum coming off her Critics Choice and Golden Globe wins for Amazon’s “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”. Banderas shined on “Genius: Picasso”, especially in a couple of the middle episodes of the 10-episode run. And at the “Drag Race” event I attended in NYC recently, contestants and Michelle Visage stressed how much they want the show win this year. Will that happen? I think so.
We’ll all find out when the 70th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards airs this Monday night, September 17th, at 8pmET on NBC.
