Yes, the Golden Globes weren’t the same without the red carpet and the regular awards show. But it was still exciting, including seeing Remy and friends win again.
I was worried that “Ratatouille” might not win for Best Animated Film because the Hollywood Foreign Press sometimes makes wacky choices. But Remy and Linguini get another statue. The fact that the movie was set in Paris probably helped.
There were some very interesting winners this year. Johnny Depp’s selection as Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical was a shocker. I think Homer Simpsons should have won. And “Atonement” winning Best Drama was a surprise. Many insiders think it may not even get nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.
Hope the writer’s strike ends soon so the Academy Awards can go on as scheduled. Nominations will be announced a week from today.
