Just over two years after the original “Open Season” hit theaters, the sequel, “Open Season 2” is out as a Direct-to-DVD movie. All of the main characters from the first movie are back, though many of the voices are done by new actors.
In “Open Season 2”, Elliot is set to marry Giselle but gets cold feet (hoofs)? And he and the other characters go on a quest to help Mr. Weenie, who’s caught between being a pet and being “a wild”.
It isn’t as funny as the original “Open Season”, which was one of my favorite films of 2006, but ‘2″ is still pretty funny and definitely worth seeing. And the DVD Extras include some great games and a feature in which you can learn how to draw some of the characters, including Elliot and Boog.
On The Official Kid Critic Report Card, “Open Season 2” gets a B.
