Today’s Blog – a Three Parter:
First, the official news this week that the final Harry Potter book (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) will be turned into TWO movies – Part one will be released in November 2010 and Part two in May 2011. I actually had heard rumors of this a month ago. I think it’s a good move. This franchise has been incredibly successful, so squeezing another movie out of the final book makes a lot of sense.
Next, how about an “Enchanted” sequel? Disney officials believe that this could be their next big franchise. And Disney (without Pixar) sure needs a new franchise.
And I’ve got the best title for the 2nd “Enchanted” film: Instead of “Enchanted 2” (boring) they should go with “Another Enchanted Tale”. Pretty clever, isn’t it? Remember where you heard it first!
Lastly, everyone finally gets to see the trailer for the 3rd “Ice Age” movie at “Horton Hears a Who!” I saw it Friday night and it’s cute (Scrat at it again). But how about the title – “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs”. The story now goes from the Ice Age to Prehistoric Times. It comes out on the 4th of July, 2009 in Digital 3-D. Pretty soon EVERY animiated movie will be in Digital 3-D (which is o.k. with me).
Maybe Fred Flintstone will make a cameo.
