“Boo 2! A Madea Halloween” is the sequel to “Boo! A Madea Halloween”, released exactly a year ago. “Boo” earned more than $73 million domestically, becoming the 2nd highest grossing Madea film to date. “Boo 2” is the eighth movie starring Madea and is the second directorial sequel of writer, director, producer and star Tyler Perry’s career. He also made “Why Did I Get Married Too?”, the 2010 follow-up to his 2007 original.
Tyler Perry has recently played non-Madea characters on the big screen, with a role in 2009’s “Star Trek”, the title “Alex Cross” (2012), Tanner Bolt in “Gone Girl” (2014) and the villain in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows”, released this summer.
