My Philadelphia Eagles FINALLY Won A Super Bowl. A long time coming – and an intense, nerve-racking game. But they did it!
Shout-out to the Fan MVP: Bradley Cooper, star of “Silver Linings Playbook” and life-long Philly fanatic! NBC cameras took shots of him in the press box throughout the night – and the looks on his face represented every Eagles fan all over the world.
Now, to the Movie Ads – 8 legitimate ones in all and only 5 of them during the actual game:
During the Kickoff show, Fox aired a spot for “Red Sparrow”, the Jennifer Lawrence action/drama opening in a little less than four weeks (Mar. 2).
Just after Pink’s National Anthem rendition, Paramount showcased a look at Emily Blunt and John Krasinski’s thriller “A Quiet Place”, opening April 6.
After the Coin Toss: an extended, amped-up preview of Universal’s “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” (June 22).
In Q1, Disney FINALLY unveiled a teaser for “Solo: A Star Wars Story”. Director Ron Howard’s origin effort will be released Memorial Day Weekend (May 25).
Dwayne Johnson’s July 13 action movie “Skyscraper” looks completely ridiculous. An ad for this Uni pic was shown in between Q1 & Q2.
The Second Quarter featured an enticing sneak peek at Paramount’s “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” (out July 27) and the studio’s “The Cloverfield Paradox”, though this latest chapter in the J.J. Abrams-produced sci-fi saga will be a Netflix release “very soon”.
Justin Timberlake‘s Halftime Show was Spectacular – my favorite of my lifetime.
In Q3, two car ads for two big upcoming films: Lexus & “Black Panther” (Feb. 16) and Jeep & Jeff Goldblum’s triumphant return in “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”. Plus, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” will assemble all our beloved heroes on May 4.
But the night belonged to the Philadelphia Eagles, with a wild 41-33 victory! World Champions! #FlyEaglesFly
